Practical Help After a Death

When there’s so much to handle, start with one next step.

After someone dies, paperwork, phone calls, and unanswered questions can feel overwhelming. We help you organize what needs attention and work through practical tasks at a manageable pace.

We’ll Help You:

  • Create a checklist of tasks and next steps.

  • Locate and organize important documents.

  • Identify companies and organizations that need to be notified.

  • Prepare for account closures and other requests.

  • Keep track of calls, paperwork, and follow-up.

  • Find professionals who can help with legal, financial, or estate questions.

Making the Tasks More Manageable

You may have a stack of mail, a list of accounts, or no idea where to begin. We help you sort the information you have, identify questions, and organize what needs attention.

Together, we create a practical task list so you can see what has been completed and what still needs follow-up.

Notifications & Account Closures

We help you identify whom to contact, gather requested information, and prepare notifications or account-closure requests.

Support may include organizing correspondence, preparing questions for companies, and tracking the documents they request.

Each organization has its own process. The legally authorized person remains responsible for approvals, signatures, and account decisions.

Paperwork & Follow-Up

We can help organize documents, prepare for calls, take notes, and track responses so you don’t have to keep every detail in your head.

You remain in control of your information and decide which tasks you want help with.

Connecting You With the Right Help

Some questions need an attorney, financial professional, accountant, or benefits representative. We help you identify the appropriate resource and prepare questions for that conversation.

What to Expect

1. Tell us where you need help.

We begin with a conversation about your situation and the tasks that feel overwhelming. There is no charge for this initial conversation.

2. Make a manageable plan.

Together, we choose priorities and agree on the support, estimated time, and cost before paid work begins.

3. Work through the details.

We provide the agreed support, keep track of progress, and help you identify the next steps.

Pricing

$60 per hour

  • In-person appointments: two-hour minimum ($120).

  • Virtual appointments: one-hour minimum ($60).

  • Research, calls, and coordination completed on your behalf are billed at the same hourly rate when agreed in advance.

In-Person or Online

We serve Lynchburg and surrounding counties. Virtual appointments are also available through Zoom.

Our Role

We provide practical organization and support. We do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice, act as an executor, or settle estates. Decisions and authorizations remain with the legally authorized person.

You Don’t Have to Tackle Everything at Once

Tell us what needs attention. We’ll help you find a manageable place to start.
